Great functionality / grate make and build / poor firmware - ATN X-Sight 5 LRF 5-25x UHD Smart Day/Night Hunting Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube w/ Gen 5 Sensor

I would like to split my review into three parts, focusing on; The functionality of the X-Sight 5 5x25 LRF scope, The implementation of said functionality, and the customer and the technical support I have received during my interaction with the ATN representatives.

Functionality - 4.8 out of 5

The wide range of capabilities offered by The x-Sight 5 LRF scope is presently unmatched by other digital night vision products, ranging from high resolution of the display, streaming and recording capabilities, integration and ease use of the laser remote finder and the ballistic calculator, user friendly zeroing capabilities, and recoil activated video. The scope is also fully configurable through the use menus controlled by the keypad keys and/or the use of the remote control as well as using the mobile application supporting the scope over the WIFI. These are just a few capabilities, making this scope a prime contender among digital night vision scope offerings.

There are two additional capabilities I would like to see in the next generation of the product. On is the voice activation and control functionality allowing for a voce control of the scope instead of, or in addition to the current kay based control. The second addition to the functional offerings of the product is the integrated battery pack slot allowing for insertion and replacement of the standard battery packs, 20000 mA and over, as needed This functionality ought to be a priority since the power supply will always be a weak aspect of the product. As a matter of fact the power supply should be addressed in a more generic fusion since there a other rifle extensions relying on the power supply capabilities; white light, ir illuminators, later points and such.

Implementation 3 out of 5

I would like to point out that the term 'Implementation' is limited to the firmware aspect of the scope, and in no way it is a reflection on the high quality of 'hardware' and 'making' of the product. My rating of the implementation of the said functionality is based on evaluation of a single item. In normal circumstances I would assume that the issues I found and related to the product's implementation were attributed to the bad luck. Unfortunately, I have encountered many other reviews addressing shortcomings, bordering on incompetence of the firmware developers (software). Hopefully, new updates to the firmware will address many of a problem with the product.

Technical and Customer Support 5 out of 5

Despite of the shortcomings related to the implementation of the product, I have decided to keep the product and work with the technical and customer support representatives to address the problems. In particular Mrs. Kelly Prince, on the technical side, and Mr. Frank Mora, on the customer support side, were unquestionably forthcoming and available to address any and all the issues. Also, all other representative were equally supportive. In general, the customer relations representatives of the ATN should be congratulated for their dedication in helping their customer.
