Thegiven's Review of Ballistic Advantage Premium Series 6.5mm Grendel II SPR Threaded Barrel
Once again Ballistic Advantage fails me.
I have been trying to contact them, got an email that had a list of troubleshooting to try. Did everything in the list and was getting with Hornady Black ELD Match 1.50"+ groups.
Tried it without the muzzle brake, went down .125" but had really bad vertical streaming.
Tried some Wolf 100 grain FMJ and was 2" group, the went to Hornady V-Match and got the same 1.5"+ groups. Also, I tried some PPU 120 grain BTHP and it was @ 1.75"+ 5 shot groups.
I kept a few of the targets, but after several attempts to get in touch with Ballistic Advantage, and failure after failure.
Not to mention the wast if about 100 rounds of 6.5 Grendel ammunition, that gets $$$, after a bunch of testing for nothing.
I even cleaned between ammunition changes, still nothing, went back home and checked gas block, handguard and barrel nut torque, had it at 45 ft lbs, went to 55 ft lbs, which was max by the handguard specs.
I even lapped the receiver and no change in groups. I should have sent this back, when I received the barrel, it was in plain clear bubble wrap, not the black Ballistic Advantage wrap. The barrel was dimpled and the feed ramps were polished. It looked shot and I knew I should have went with my gut and sent it back.
It's on it way now , done wasting my time on it.
