I do not have the magnifier, so this review will only be of the optic itself. I bought this with low expectations. I needed a temporary optic on my 5.56 AR-15. I liked the ACOG style more than the other cheap options and I had read some good reviews. I really liked the reticle, even though there was a little ghosting on very close inspection.
So I took it to the range and sighted it in. To my surprise, it held zero. I've had it for over a year and I haven't felt the need to upgrade.
Like most of my sights, I would recommend this IF you are buying it for its intended purpose. That is a cheap sight for range shooting, possibly hunting in close ranges (brush, etc.), or airsoft. This was not designed for combat. I have not tested this in extreme weather (heat or cold). I have not submersed it in water or beaten it against a rock. I wouldn't recommend that you do that either. If you want a combat optic so you can swim 30 feet under water and assault an Arctic oil rig like a Navy SEAL, get an ACOG/Aimpoint/EOTech, etc. If you want a good range/hunting/airsoft sight, this one is just fine. There are other options in the same price range that are just as good.
As for you airsofters, I used to play and I beat my gear pretty hard. I played for several years in some pretty harsh environments and I saw good gear stay together and bad gear fall apart. I would say that my old airsoft gear got a lot more beating and abuse than most product reviewers put their gear through. That being said, I would absolutely put this sight on my airsoft rifle.
Pros: Affordable, looks cool, nice reticle, holds zero
Cons: very slight ghosting on reticle
