Barska Colorado 15-40x 50
I shoot a .45 Hi-Point carbine out to 100 yards. The Barska Colorado 15-40x 50 provides a clear and crisp view of the target at that distance. The scope works great at all range settings within the 100 yard requirement. I have not evaluated this scope beyond this range. I am quite happy with the pur...

Good starter spotting scope for the money..
This is a good, cheap spotting scope for the range. The stand that it comes with is lacking, but works until you find a better one.
For the money you can't beat it... I haven't had any issues with moisture or particles getting in the lens yet either which is a good thing (and I shoot at least ...

Junk. Save up and buy anything else.
Glass is junk. View is poor. Yes you can see but this feels more like a toy then a tool. The tripod is worthless and most rifle scopes will be a better for spotting then this. Wish I hadn’t bought it.

Good little unit for the truck
Only a 40x and the eye relief leaves a bit to he desired but it can be used with glasses if you fold over the eye cup.it fits well in the center console and would be fine for a light weight backpack. I like scoping the mountainside for animals but would not recommend it for paper targets past 100 yds. Keep in mind that I do wear corrective lenses so this may or may not apply to you.
Pros:
- Size and Weight
Cons:
- Lower magnification, only 40x
Best Used for:
- Light scoping from truck or open hillside.

Did Not Meet My Simple Needs
I purchased this spotter for one and only one purpose. I needed to see .22 caliber bullet holes on white paper at 50 yards in mid day harsh Texas sunshine. For that purpose it failed me. I could not focus it fine enough at even the lowest power to aptly identify the small holes. Whether this particular scope was flawed or whether the limitations are inherent with most cheap optics I don't know. I haven't had enough experience with various spotting scopes to qualify a fair answer. That said, I imagine the scope would be adequate for an indoor range or outdoor shooting at 25 yards. I could see my holes at that distance. I can't recommend this spotter unless your needs are very limited.

Not worth purchasing
Optical quality isn't great. Images are like looking through Plexiglas. The scope is made with brittle plastic. Mine broke in several places on my third range trip. The tripod is flimsy which also broke. I'm not hard on my gear and this scope can't handle any abuse. Differently not trail worthy.
Best Used for:
- A bullet catcher

Good Cheap Range Scope
A good scope to see bullet holes on paper at 100 yards. The tripod is useless, just save the thumscrew off the tripod and pick up a different one. Ypu can get a good used camera tripod at a second hand store and cut it down short for benchtop use. Optics are to be expected for a cheap scope. it is lightweight so the heavier the base you use the better on windy days. I did not want to spend a lot just to see bullet holes so it works well for my use. If you need something for the range for ailing eyes this may just be the ticket for you. Although cheaply built it does serve it's purpose. My biggest complaint was shipping was a little slow.
Pros:
- Compact and Light
Cons:
- None

great economical spotting scope
If you are looking for a very economical spotting scope this is probably the best available. The tripod does fit inside the case with the scope despite some reviews that say it
