Most Helpful Positive Review Solid performance, low cost
My brother in law purchased the non-illuminated reticle and just got 3 deer up to 400 yards and as close as 70 yards. The scope is nice because its crosshairs are thin and do not obstruct your view of shoulder area shots, etc.. Just as bright as the Nikon's, etc. and very clear optics. I have bee...

This product is a waste of money. If you're in the market for a scope, spend a few extra dollars and buy anything else. Plus the manufacturer's "lifetime warranty" is a joke. If you have one and are have trouble with it, do the right thing and bury it. Don't sell it to someone else, just walk away. ...

Very Good Scope For The Money

by Mysterioso, from CA, United States Written on November 4, 2016
Good scope for the money. I like that it has an object focus on the optic bell and a parallax corrector on the object bell. Really helps to zero in on your target. Another thing is that the turrets can be zeroed after you zero the reticle at your desired yardage. You loosen three tiny screws on the turret and re-position it at zero or what ever number you want to start at. The lens caps are really nice and come with the scope. There is a long sun shade for the object lens that I don't think will ever come into use. Even though you get scope rings too, I used a better pair with 4 lock down screws. The turrets turn crisp and stop well. Three things that are a little on the negative side. One, the reticle cross hairs are very thin, very, very thin. What makes up for that is that the reticle dot, when off or illuminated, is easy to see. Two, the sight picture through the scope seems to have a small diameter. When you've got your proper eye relief there is a lot of black tube around the picture. I've read some reviews where guys have said they can't see the IR dot when illuminated. Well, its not for daytime use. Its for very low light or dark. Then its a small bright red dot. The third thing is that the eye relief is not 3.6 inches as advertised, its closer to 2 - 2.5 inches. Kinda short for a high powered rifle. You'll have to hold it tight into your shoulder. Okay I guess for you air puff gunners. Other than that I really like this scope
Pros:
  • good value
  • Lots of features
  • Clear Sight Picture
  • Lots of Extras
Cons:
  • Short eye relief
  • Too Much Tube Around Sight Picture
Best Used for:
  • Long Distance Rifle Shooting

Bad illuminated red dot

by big A, from MO, United States Written on March 17, 2015
scope seems to good, except the red dot is so dim on the highest setting that you can hardly see it,and yes the battery is good.I didn't notice any of this until I had mounted the scope on my rifle.I don't have any more to write-this is not a book.

Great scope, eye relief is a bit tuff with my glasses on for some reason/ grey fuzzy ring around the edges, only with my glasses on though. Great on my Bmag returns to zero very well. got my nikon/Leopold only friend to agree it was a great scope. time will tell how well it holds up to the truck but as of now with a lifetime warranty i am very pleased. I will purchase more barkska scopes from optics planet
Pros: target dot, cheap, clear up to 21 ish magnification
Cons: eye relief with glasses on

Barska Target Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from IL, United States Written on June 14, 2012
I bought this scope for a 22 caliber match rifle and for it's intended purpose it is a great scope. I have several Barska scopes and I have had no problems with them except they get a bit grey up at the highest power settings. For a scope in this price range they can't be beat.
Pros: very clear, great value
Cons: poor rings and caps

Barska Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on March 15, 2010
This scope was made to hang with the big boys. I have Leupold and Nikon scopes and this is just as good. I put this on my .280 and with a hand load that I use I have been picking Coyotes off at 600 yds. The red dot makes it great for those evening hours. The only complaint I have is the flip-ups that came with the scope aren't the greatest, I would definately purchase better ones if that is your thing.

Best scope per dollar.

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on February 27, 2010
This is an excellent scope for the price, although I did have to swap out the rings for some picatinny rings. A lot of people tell me every time I go to the range to buy a better scope, that Barska scope suck, but I get very good groups at 100yards with 16-24mph crosswinds so I never listen to what these people say.
Pros: Very clear at 14x where I shoot most of time.
Cons: Little too long.
