The Beretta ED352-1 does indeed decrease the sound reaching your ears, but is inadequate for shooting or operation of lawn equipment. I use sound protection daily for operation of an espresso/capiccino machine and weekly for shooting or operation of lawn machinery. The Beartta ED352-1 (25 db of sound dampening) lets in way too much sound. I did side-by side comparison to two Pelcor models (30 db), which were significantly better at dampening the sound. The Beretta ear-cups also rotate and do not hold their position, making it cumbersome to re-align the cups and deploy. On the positive side, the thin ear cups may be nice for some users, but are not worth the negatives in my experience.
Pros: Low profile
Cons: Poor sound dampening, clumsy to deploy
