TheBrandonEntity's Review of Birchwood Casey 3/8 Inch Handgun Dueling Tree
Initial assembly of the tree and paddles took some oil and a hammer to accomplish, and it took a few sessions for the paddles to move freely enough because of the tight fit due to the paint on the paddles. Don't expect to ever get this thing apart once it's together. The tree is pretty heavy and the cheap little case it comes in won't hold up for very long so I swapped it for a much larger, stronger one, which works out well because it actually fits.
The tree itself seems pretty solid and impervious to pistol shots. I haven't hit it with any high power rifle so I can't attest to the durability against those.
The stand on this thing is a very soft and thin mild steel, almost like a very thick sheet steel, and will bend very easily. Mine fell over and bent to the point of being unusable. I didn't stake it down well enough so my bad, but still...even before that it was catching bullets and getting damaged. It could probably be fixed with a torch and a hammer. I'd recommend sand bags for weight and protection.
For the price I paid for this years ago, around $200 I think, it wasn't a bad deal. Now for almost $400...Hard pass. Might as well buy into a target system like Legion's that will hold up longer and is modular.
