tonetonitony's Review of Birchwood Casey 3/8 Inch Handgun Dueling Tree
Normal 3/8 AR500 metal will withstand .223 from 100 yds... not these. The base, while effective at making this portable lacks durability. The welds are only one sided, theres no way these will last long before needing to be serviced. The metal pole is painted and scrapes paint while inserting paddles - inhibiting free movement and making it very hard to install. Some paddles will move even thou they hadnt been shot because the one around it moved.
If this was $150-$200 it would be a decent purchase for something that will likely only last a few sessions. The metal angle will shrug off pistol cal rounds as this was designed.
Had this been designed with real 3/8 AR500 metal for the paddles / angle, add some standard welds and bolt holes for mounting to user supplied channel they could pound into the ground..... and this could have been an extremely versatile shooting tree worthy of spending more money on.
