I use the patches for cleaning pistol or rifle Barrels all the time after use. I wrap the patch tightly around a brass brush with a brass core on my 22 cal brush ,Tipton cleaning rod, drop a few drops of Kroil and jb bore cleaner and scrub the barrel. Does a excellent job, never hurt any barrel I owned .
