Taurus 357 mag model 627 6.5 inch with rail and vortex venom red dot - BlackHawk Alaska Guide Holster for Revolvers, w/ Speed Loader Pouch

Wanted to try out another pistol for Hog Hunting. A Taurus 357 Magnum Model 627 with 6.5 inch barrel mounted with a Taurus Picatinny Rail Mount Model 10-034 and atop that a Vortex Venom Red Dot. Sounds like a great combo but actually finding a Chest Holster that would fit this was like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. I contacted virtually EVERY leather Chest Holster shop or manufacturer. Those few that would return my queries I would send exact dimensions and pictures. All said NO. I wanted a leather holster but it seemed the leather gods were against me. So opened up dependable OPTICS PLANET and gave this BlackHawk Alaska Guide Holster a shot with hope it would take my new hog gun. IT DID. It barely accepts the added width of the Rail and fits snug around the Votex Venom Red Dot. The 357 rounds fit snugly into the provided loops. I do not use speed loaders instead bought some Orange TUFF Bullet holders and have two 5 rounders stowed in speed loader pocket. Biggest challenge now is getting it to fit directly over my chest. Still a work in progress but Thank you to Blackhawk and Optics Planet for giving me a least a viable option. Hogs Beware!
