Legacy Reviewer's Review of BlackHawk Double Mag Cases

As far a quality and usability goes these are great pouches, however there is one thing that does not make since about them, they are apparently designed so the rear mag fits best with the back of the mag facing forward. How are you supposed to index a rear facing mag? It is possible to put the mag in with the front facing forward but it takes a little bit of practice to find what angle to insert it in and it is slow. Since the pouch is designed for the rear mag to face to the rear, if you put it in with the rear mag facing forward the tension is different on the rear mag than the front mag.
Some may argue that you probably won't need the rear mag in a combat situation, but I would say that if you do it better be there because you really need it, and the last thing you need is to be fumbling around with your mag pouch.
I do love the removable paddle, that is great for concealed carry when you may be taking the pouch off and putting it on often. The paddle and belt loops are adjustable to fit different widths of belts. I usually use the belt loops, with a thicker belt the pouch can be pretty hard to thread onto the belt.
I like the adjustable tension as well.

If this pouch was designed so that both mags face forward, I would still use one. The price is also a bit steep compared to a few of the other's out there.

Pros: removable paddle, adjustable tension, durable
Cons: very hard to insert rear mag, hard to thread onto thick belt
