Highly recommended: I used this harness to take the weight of my equipment off my hips and to keep from having to constantly pulling my equipment up. This harness does that. I was also having low back pains that I feel no longer exist.

This item is thin as the shoulder straps and velcro stitching is lacking acceptable quality. Velcro and stitched material has what seems to be unfinished sharp edges when not properly oriented. I am not confident in life of product used moderately to last very long. Item is uncomfortable if used in conjunction with an external vest/ uniform combo leaving the straps visible and exposed. May be more accommodating with separate vest and uniform shirt?
Cons:
- unfinished edges
- 2 points of contact
- subpar material
Best Used for:
- Not for active police patrol

My back had become increasingly sore and tired so I wanted something to help take the weight off my duty belt off of my hips. The Blackhawk harness is helpful and I did feel my back pain decrease, but there were drawbacks. I like that this harness system is quite adjustable, and the material and craftsmanship is good quality. But this isn't a system I've been able to use daily. Perhaps it is this way with all suspension/harness systems but when I wear it, my mobility is noticeably restricted. I can't reach across my body as easily. Even reaching for my flashlight or to even turn the channel on my radio,( left hand to my left hip) is difficult because the belt is simultaneously pulling down on your shoulder while lifting the equipment on your belt upwards. Reaching back and to your side elevates your shoulder pulling the belt further upwards and making grabbing items very awkward. Since getting this product I've only used it comfortably when I'm standing for long periods of time, such as OT work at events and concerts.

My department will not allow us to wear exterior suspenders so the design of the Blackhawk H harness is a perfect compromise. Once you figure out the best place the two (included) belt keepers it is an amazing benefit to your hips and back.

Good product - easy to wear and offers good support - and easy on and easy off - I would to see the product be offer in white material , may be able to wear with different shirts
Also knowing which size to fit you is a big help

Easy to wear under the uniform shirt and is a comfortable fit. Takes the weight and pressure off of the back and waist and puts the load on your shoulders. Easy to use and after a short time of wearing you forget it is there.

This thing is great. No more hiking your belt when you exit your vehicle, no hip discomfort on foot patrols or extended hikes. All the weight is on your shoulders. I still use keepers in back to keep my garrison belt lined up with my duty belt. Blackhawk says to make a four inch hole but two inches would be plenty. GREAT PRODUCT!!!
Pros: Works Excellent, does what it says.
Cons: 4" holes in uniform shirt per instructions unnecessary.
