I put this stock on a 835 Mossberg and also mounted a Nikon Prostaff shotgun scope on the gun. When shooting lighter loads the gun performed excellent. When I tried a 3 1/2 inch load the gun came back and I got hit in the noggin with the scope. I tried it several more times keeping my head back as far as possible and had no problems. In hind sight I probably should not have mounted a scope on this setup. I have another Mossberg 835 with a regular stock and you can only stand to shoot 3 1/2 inch loads a few times. With the Blackhawk Knoxx Spec Ops stock you can shoot these loads all day long without getting a sore shoulder.
Pros: Definately reduces recoil and adjustable stock is very versatile for individuals with a shorter trigger pull.
Cons: When used with a shotgun scope the recoil reducer comes back a couple inches when used with 3 1/2 in magnum loads. The scope can end up hitting you in the noggin.
