She's only 5'1" 120 lbs and the small fit her loose enough to wear on top of a sweater or more, however the xs was the perfect fit without a sweater bit too small with one. It's fully adjustable and her level iiia soft kevlar fit in well and snug. This is well made and it's a great vest.
