I was surprised to see that these Bolle sunglasses are made in China and not Italy. Having these made in China was a terrible decision by Bolle.
I bought these sunglasses to replace an old pair of H2Optix. At first I was very pleased by the looks, comfort, and optics of these sunglasses, but that didn't last long. I kayak from Miami to Key West every year to raise money for the American Cancer Society. By the second day of our week long trip, the coating on the lenses was coming off. I don't know if it was the sunblock, the salt water, or the heat. I didn't use any harsh cloths to wipe the lenses. In fact, I waited until the end of each day and washed them with soap before wiping them with a soft cloth. I know salt water will crystallize and scratch if you aren't careful, but that wasn't the case.
I'll be returning these sunglasses soon; they just didn't perform well at all. If you can't get some sunblock or salt water on marine lenses, what good are they? I hope Bolle brings back the H2Optix line because these Venoms that are made in China don't cut it.
