Retrorob's Review of Bravo Company AR-15 Enhanced Lower Parts Kit
I am a novice in the AR15 construction field.
I had been waiting a few months for an Aero Precision lower parts kit and I was told it would be at least a few more months before I saw the kit.
I did some research on-line and found this to be an excellent substitute.
Everything fit together perfectly.
The only issue I had was the rear take down pin.
The kit does not come with a necessary set screw for setting the detent.
That set screw is a standard 4-40 x 1/8". Buy a couple because you may lose (launch) one in the assembly.
Also, don't tighten down that screw. It will put too much tension on the pin.
Tighten it down just to the point it is flush with the lower and check the pin play.
If you need more tension then you can crank it a bit.
Don't worry about the screw coming out, the buffer tube end plate will hold it in place.
While I'm offering tips, use a utility knife to compress the pivot pin spring and detent (another potential launch issue).
I set up an empty box with a towel inside and "aimed" both springs at the box while installing them. It definitely saved me from losing the pivot detent during one of those launches.
