Smallmouth's Review of Breek Arms AR-15 RG2-S MLOK Handguard
I built a 7.5” 300blk. This is one of very few Handguards available that would work like I wanted with the HuxWorx 36Ti suppressor. The longest front portion comes as close as you can get where the barrel cut stops and the threads begin. Which looks really cool with the suppressor once installed. It looks like they were made together the way they come together. I have a Faxon bead blasted SS 7.5”barrel 5R 1:5 twist. With the cut out on the side on the front of the guard. The way that all looks and comes together is just awesome. I am working on getting all external build parts with the BBSS or at least the look. I know I am sorry that I got so wound up. But to me this is going to be the coolest looking AR pistol that I have ever seen, well at least in my mind. Ok the Handguard, I guess you know by now that I really like the looks of this Hand G. The barrel nut was good with no issues torqued to specs. This is my first time that I have used this type of mounting system. Which once you look it over and see how it works. You know The lightbulb comes on and you say why didn’t I think of that. It works sort of like a mount to a picatinny rail but different. Which when tightened in place the two wedges so to speak clamp down very firmly onto the steel barrel nut I feels extremely sturdy. Another reason it feels so sturdy it is a heavy duty piece. I would venture to say it is close to being twice as thick as most guards in this price range. Which makes it a little heavy but with the nice steel barrel nut and the nice heavy duty mount This is a very sturdy handguard and should stand up to abuse. The finish also feels and looks robust. There ere a couple little minor things that could be improved like knocking off a little burr or two from the treads on the barrel nut very minor. You have to do it with most barrel nuts anyway. And no QD’s but on a gun this size I I am not sure it is necessary. This is a pretty good guard for the price. I will knock a burr or two off to help my pocket book. I think that it is cool just by the way it mounts to the barrel nut. The way it mounts as well as the mounting hardware which is very nicely finished as well. Always use a thread locker on semiautomatic guns. Heck I use it on everything.
