The strap attaches to the back of the battery compartment, and it isn't very secure. It's not like you have to press down onto something to get it to come apart. A good pull is all it takes. Because of this I wouldn't recommend the light for kids. Other than that I like it.
Pros: adjustable, bright, simple
Cons: comes apart easily
