Cynergy long recoil pad - Browning Cynergy Recoil Pads

The medium pad, which came on the shotgun, is really nice and absorbed recoil as a pad should. I changed to the longer pad to increase the length of pull, but I was extremely disappointed that the pad was made so hard. While it looks like the original pad, it is made of a different material and has virtually no give and shouldnt even be called a pad. I only shot a modest number of target rounds (2 Dram Eq.) and the longer pad left me bruised and sore. Previously, with the softer medium pad, I had shot many more rounds, including high velocity (3 Dram Eq.) and had no problem at all. Faced with the choice, I will choose to use the pad that is comfortable to shoot, over the longer pad that fits me well. However, I am disappointed that I have to make this choice and I see no reason that the longer pad couldnt be made to be a pad.
Pros: Half inch longer length of pull
Cons: Material is so hard that this isn’t a pad
