Yes, it's made in China and is not the best blade steel, but the knife came relatively sharp. It's is easy to sharpen on my Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker. . It's a bir heavy, but is a good every day carry. I live in a rural area on acreage and do a lot of outside work. Cutting open hay bales, cutting nylon string trimmer twine and cutting the occasional plastic pot to separate the root ball for planting shrubs. I like the fact it doesn't have a pocket clip. The handle shape fits my medium size hands well and is comfortable. It opens easily, in fact almost too easily. That's an area for improvement. Well worth the less than the $20 spent including shipping.
