DennisZ's Review of Browning 1in Integrated Scope Mount System

These Browning rings are essentially Talley rings with a Browning label, which is a good thing. The problem I had is that they don't give you enough information to determine how tall they are. They call them "Standard" rings. Why they don't call them "low" like Talley does is a mystery to me. They are not tall enough for you to mount a 40 mm objective on a T-bolt Target/Varmint rifle - at least not on the version with the stainless steel barrel. It was close - the part that rubbed was the AO ring so depending on the scope, it might have fit. This was a Leupold 6.5x20 VX3 EFR. I substituted a smaller VX1 3x9 scope to try the rings out and they were fine. I like the way the one piece design works. They were easy to install. After barrel sighting and three shots, I had it zeroed in at 50 yards.

I searched the OpticsPlanet site for the higher rings I really needed. They did not have them under the Browning name and they did not have them under the Talley name. I searched the Talley part number on the site and it came back with some erronious products. I ended up ordering direct from Talley. Browning T-Bolt medium rings part 940412 they are .5 inch height one piece rings. I can't comment on those yet because the mounting screws were too long. Same screws as came with the "Browning" rings, but the holes in the medium rings were deeper apparently and the screws bottomed out before the ring was snug to the receiver. As Roseanne would say, "It's always something".
