I bought this mainly to measure the slope of snow to aid in the evaluation of avalanche hazards without adding another thing for me to carry (since my old compass stays at home now.) While the clinometer works, it's hard to read a specific degree since the clinometer arrow tip is a fair bit away from the 2-degree hash marks. I usually end up guessing within 4 degrees of the actual slope, which is okay I suppose, but I was hoping from something more accurate. Also, the thermometer seems like a gimmick to me, but that could just be personal usage style: unless I set it out somewhere to adjust for a few minutes, quick checks are only going to tell me the temperature of my pocket, not the air around me. Still though, it's a decently average compass, and it's ability to set a custom declination to compensate for magnetic north is essential to me. The inch and centimeter scales on the sides are helpful for measuring distance on maps.
Pros: Declination adjustment, sighting mirror & notch, inch/cm scales, rough inclinometer
Cons: precision is average rather than amazing (and I expected amazing for this pricy of a compass)
