Awesome binoculars - Brunton Epoch 10x25 Compact Waterproof Binoculars F-XNC10 w/ Case, Strap

You'll need to pay more than you want for these, but the wide field of view is great and makes it sooo much easier to find things and follow moving objects. You just can't find another pair of compacts with anything comparable, so that's part of what you're paying for. The dual hinge design means that they fold up into a very compact form when not in use. If you're moving up from an inexpensive pair, then you'll also appreciate the locking diopter adjustment. The eye relief is reasonably long, but I found it to be a tad short to work with glasses, particularly if used with the flip-open lens caps. The lens cap design is better than the design on earlier Brunton compacts -- they lock open and are completely removable, for instance -- but they feel breakable. I'm also not completely sure they'll stay on when open. The focus knob is smallish and feels unnaturally close to the face, which I find a bit annoying. Once you find it, however, the focus mechanism itself is easy and smooth. The image quality is excellent -- clear and bright and everything you'd expect from a Brunton. Overall, I'm completely happy that I bought these.
