This case is a nice fit for my AR15 with a 16 inch barrel and adjustable butt stock. It fits easily yet snugly so there is no rattling around.
The zippers, Velcro, and padding seem to be of adequate quality. The magazine pouches can easily fit on 30 rd AR mag each, or you can stuff two per pouch for a tight fit and a total of eight mag carrying capacity. I also run some 20rd mags, so dropped a block of foam into the pouch to keep the shorter magazine from falling deeper and making retrieval more difficult.
The small zipper side pouch will also fit my compact 9mm (never tried to fit a full size, but would probably fit just fine).
I can carry my battle rifle, my side arm, and mags and ammo for both in this one case to the car, to the range, or out into the field with this case, so I see no reason for paying more for fancier versions of the same.
