gunmonkey's Review of Bulldog Cases & Vaults Molded Leather Belt Slide Holster - Large Frame Autos

I have purchased many of these holsters for myself and family members to be used for daily carry or for a holster to have for back up, car, and bug-out bag guns. The inexpensive cost makes it possible for me to have a good holster for every auto pistol I own. I have found these to be a much better option than cheap tuckable nylon holsters or the inexpensive kydex models from, say, Foebus or Uncle Mike's, as they don't rattle like kydex, hold the pistol much closer into the body, and are so comfortable they can be worn quite happily day in and day out. The leather doesn't mar a pistol's finish. The pistol draws quickly and well from the holster, and when carried stays secure and very close in to the body for good concealment. The holster has a slight forward cant, and works very well in the 3 and 4 o'clock positions, as well as appendix. In a pinch I have used these with small pistols in the crossdraw position, although the cant is not ideal for that. The versatility of this holster makes it a very good choice if you have a pistol that the major holster manufacturers have ignored, and the cost is so low that it is a good option even if your sidearm is common as dirt. I have used these very happily with full-sized and compact 1911's, blocky Ruger .45 and 9mm pistols, the S&W Sigma in .40, the Steyr M40-A1, the Kahr PM45, and others. The leather is a tiny bit less thick than what one would see on a Galco or Desantis holster, but I have used these extensively with many different firearms, and have never had one wear out or fail in any way, and at the low cost, if they did wear out, one could buy five or six before feeling any pain. To make sure you get the right fit see the fit chart on Bulldog's website-hasn't steered me wrong yet. I would recommend these to anyone who likes a belt slide holster. I would carry one into a fight.
