Most Helpful Negative Review Don't buy this product .. buy the TargetVison Unit instead - I own both
I own both the Bulleye 1 mile unit and the TargetVision 1 mile unit. The TargetVision works at the full advertised range. When the Bulleye failed to perform at more than 400 yds, I sent it back for repair/replacement. That was over a month ago .. GSM's customer service is very poor. I bought the Tar...

The SME Company and their warranty

by coyotejs, from AZ, United States Written on November 25, 2023
I have a new/old stock Bullseye AMMO Can camera system that I bought at SHOT SHOW from the original company years ago. I got it new in the box from the old Bullseye Company. When I went to use it years later it would not work. It was brand new too. I found that SME purchased the Bullseye Company and after several letters and telephone calls I found that they would not support the product even though it was brand new and I had the extended 2 year warranty. I even sent it to them to look at. They returned it. They offered be a 1/2 price coupon for a new unit from them (SME). I told the lady in customer service "why in the world would I buy anything from you when you will not stand behind your warranty. What product(s) will you stop supporting next just to force people to have to upgrade and buy a new product from you?" Its poor service/no service from these people. They even shut down the site that supported the old original Bullseye products like the AMMO Can camera. Shameful. That site cost them nothing to leave up and help support the original owners of the Bullseye protects.
I say "buyer beware" on anything from SME. Go slow and read all the reviews and think hard before doing business with these people. Get everything in writing (not that it will matter with these people). BUYER BEWARE.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Does not stand behind orginial warranty
  • Does not stand behind original warranty.
Best Used for:
  • boat anchor

If there was an option for zero stars, this would receive it.

by S.A.M., from OK, United States Written on November 19, 2020
I purchased one of their ammo can cameras a little over a year ago. Took it out and it worked as advertised. I took it out this year and could not get it to connect. Weird.

I call technical support the next day and explain what is going on and ask what I need to do in order to reset the camera. Their response? Those are no longer supported. We will offer a customer loyalty discount of 50% off a new one. (This may sound great, but 50% off is only like $25 less than I can buy it online from another store.) Now, if I want to use my camera, I have to pay an ADDITIONAL $200!

Basically, the reason the camera doesn't work is they updated their software. So, instead of rolling out a different software for their new cameras, they update the software so the old cameras don't work forcing you to buy a new one if you get a new phone and have to reinstall the software.

I don't ever write negative reviews, but I feel I should warn others before they make the same mistake I did.

Buyer beware!!
Pros:
  • Was okay when it worked
Cons:
  • Customer support

Long Range Ammo Cam

by Mikeofc12, from WA, United States Written on October 29, 2018
Easy to set up, but the App takes a little more patients and practice. Used it at only 200 yards so far but the image is clear and is better than having a spotting scope. Use a tablet instead of a smartphone and you wont be disappointed. This item will always be charges and ready to go to the range or the woods.

Won't Stay Connected

by Chicago1776, from ID, United States Written on August 19, 2018
I bought this product with high expectations despite some of the bad reviews. Well my unit won't stay connected when I tried it out at 10 and 50 meters. The unit will stay connected initially when I start it up and then about 5 minutes later it will lose connection. I tried moving the camera around, but that didn't work. I tried it 10 meters and the same thing would happen. I called them up and they couldn't give me an answer to solve the problem so I sent it back with shipping cost of $42. I got the unit back and tried it at 10 meters before I was willing to walk down the dusty range for longer distances. Well, the results were the same after about five minutes it would lose signal between the base station and the camera. I called them again and they want me to go and move the units around to see if it can pickup a signal. I am afraid I am going to be stuck with a very expensive, but cheaply built electronics. Don't buy this system. Their competitor systems have at least better reviews.
Pros:
  • Works well when it works
Cons:
  • Won't stay connected

Never would work.

by wbask, from CA, United States Written on January 12, 2018
I purchased this thing and it would only read out to 200 yds. I called the manufacturer and he told me I should try the long range antenna, another 125 dollars, still would not work. Now I call and he has sold out to another company and I get to eat the 500 dollars investment. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Long Range Ammo Cam

by DC, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on December 15, 2017
This works as advertised! It's great to zoom in and see your shots in real time. The color and sharpness are great, even works for two targets side by side. The stand could be a little stronger but other than that worth the $.

I own both the Bullseye and TargetVision 1 mile systems

by Farmer Steve, from KS, United States Written on November 28, 2017
Bullseye Works great at 400 yards and LESS -- It has never worked at great then 400 yds, connectivity problems at greater distances. The unit is back at GSM for repair/replacement. I bought the 1 mile Target Vision... It worked out of the box at 1 mile.. no connectivity issues. If you buy any Bullseye product immediately test your unit at its maximum rated range.. The current software with Bullseye is more sophisticated then the TargetVision stuff but when you cannot connect to the camera ... it doesn't matter. TargetVision's android software appears to match the Bullseye stuff .. hope the iPad and iPhone upgrades comes along quickly. I will report back on the results of the manufacture's warrentee ... will see if Bullseye support their products.

Great Product

by cms, from MI, United States Written on January 26, 2017
Seldom does a product live up to its advertising. This exceeds it. The unit is solidly built and the different presentations that it is capable of performing such as analyzing shot placement are amazing. I bought the extended range-600yd-and found that the clarity of the target picture was crisp and clear.

Bullseye Camera System

by JOMO, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on December 10, 2016
This system is da bomb. Works as advertised, easy to set up and an absolute necessity for long range ammo evaluation. Has features like marking shots or different loads in different colors and measuring group size from the shooting bench pays for itself. Also, friends can set up their own targets and share the system by downloading the app an defining their own target. Sessions can be saved for later review. Well worth the price.
