Batter cap is wrenched on - Burris RT-6 1-6x24mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, Second Focal Plane (SFP)

I have been very excited to get my new Burris R-T 6 scope. It came in today and I got right on mounting it on my rifle. After getting it mounted I tried turning on the illumination and discovered it needed the battery installed. I have spent more than an hour trying to get the battery cap off, it is wrenched on supper tight and their is very little to get a hold of. Their is no reason for an empty battery compartment to be so difficult to open, I am trying not to scratch up my new scope with tools. Other than the battery issue the scope seems very nice, I like the reticle and throw lever .
