I recently purchased one of these scopes in an attempt to upgrade a Marlin 336 30-30, presently topped with a Weaver V-3 and using Hornady Leverevolution ammo. Loggers recently logged off several hundred acres where I hunt, creating large clear cuts that are deer magnets and present 200 yard shots. I could easily use one of my bolt action rifles to tackle this issue but am addicted to my lever guns for white tail hunting! Anyways, this scope is a HUGE disappointment in the clarity department. I spent hours trying to adjust it but could not obtain a crisp, clear focus that I'd expect from a Burris. In side-by-side comparisons to my Weaver V-3s, K-4, and Nikon Prostaff 2-7X32 and 3-9X40, all of which are comparably priced and provide clear, crisp images, this Timberline failed miserably. And, (gasp!) it's even worse than a lowly Brunton 1.5-5X20!!! My Weaver V-3 maintained it's position on my 336 and the Timberline has now been assigned to my boys Henry .22 plinker...OUCH, I didn't see that coming! IMO, Burris should leave the budget scope market to those who have already conquered it.
Pros: Compact size, eye relief
Cons: Clarity issues
