ensoniqman's Review of Bushnell Powerview 10x42mm Roof Prism Binoculars

Not that impressed for the 10x42 Powerview (Explorer) model. I was kind of disappointed when I got these for a pre-season scouting trip. Hard to focus right in....the adjustment is too loose and you can't refine the 'one spot' of focus. Beyond 300 yards these things lose their sharpness. I have Simmons 10x42 Wilderness Binoculars which dial better than these...and use lenses made by Olympus, making it much sharper out to 1000 yards. These Bushnell lenses only seem to show decent clarity out about 300 yards, which is fine for bird watching. If your intent is to use them to hunt or scout for bigger game like deer or elk, spend the extra $50 bucks and step up to a better model or brand.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
Cons:
  • Lense sharpness
Best Used for:
  • Bird watching
