Jon's Review of Bushnell 4.5-30x50 Argon Elite Rifle Scope MilDot

After much research I purchased this scope for my 7mm Rem Mag and "cliff hunting" style of pursuing whitetails in Missouri, and hope to eventually go west and do some bigger game hunts. Where I hunt at, I overlook a couple hundred acres of brush and can see 1240 yards. I wanted to be able to kill whatever deer I seen within my area. So far the furthest I have had the opportunity to target shoot with this scope is 880 yards (1/2 mile). At 880 yards I shot a 5 inch group, yes alot of that is the gun, but you need good optics to be able to see targets well at that distance. As far as killing animals in the field, I have shot a doe at 630 yards and a wild hog at 550 yards. Everyone who touches my scope/gun combo, just absolutely love it. My brother in law liked mine so much he bought the exact same scope for his 7MM rem mag and killed a nice buck at 440 yards. If I am hunting in the woods or smaller fields, I always keep my scope at the 4.5 zoom, but when I opt for a long shot, I always zoom in to 30. The ability to zoom from 4.5x to 30x is something you wont find in many models. Based off the amount MOA's this scope has, I could theoretically dial out to over 1500 yards with the loads I am shooting. I am still waiting for the opportunity to take that 880 or 1000 yard shot, but with this scope I feel confident that when the opportunity presents itself, I will be ready.
