Excellent Scope,
Bushnell has hit the mark in building a quality scope with solid construction, excellent glass plus an illuminated reticle for an amazingly economical price. Butler Creek type caps for the lenses are included. Turrets adjust reliably with positive clicks, glass is very clear even in low light condit...

Scope cap broken and package was abused
I received my Bushnell Engage 3-9x40. Initially all appeared well but when I opened the actual Bushnell box the foam cradle was dislodged. My scope was loose inside which wouldn't be an issue but my eyepiece cover was broken at the hinge. The scope itself is fine and appears unscathed and seems to b...

Great glasd!
This is a great scope with very good glass and sturdy. It is no longer made and replaced by the R-5 series at Bushnell. Sadly, my copy was defective in that the lighted reticle did not work. Optics Planet quickly made it easy to return the defective scope.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- Weighs more than most
Best Used for:
- Twilight deer stand

Great glass with nice reticle
Bought this scope on sale and very pleased with the quality. I have the same scope in the Prime version and can not really tell any difference but supposedly the Engage is a step up. If you are in need of a good 3x9 hunting scope with red dot multi-x reticle i would highly recommend either the Prime or Engage from Bushnell. I was able to purchase both on sale ($150) and they easily outperform at that price.
Pros:
- Clarity
- Price point
- reticle
- Exo barrier
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- hunting

Has the features for the amount of money I wanted to spend
Haven't shot with it yet but it spec'ed out for what I was looking for. I wanted to spend $250 or less, a simple center of reticle red dot, and a 1 inch tube 3-9 power range type scope. I like the lens coating, every brightness level in the red dot illumination adjustment knob has an off position between it and comes with nice flip up lens covers, appear to be Butler Creek type. Looks to be well made, controls are smooth, glass is bright and clear, finish is nice, feels solid. All the inexpensive scopes are made in China as is this one, but Bushnell has a reputation for an acceptable level of quality at a decent price and I have good lucks with Bushnell rifle scopes over the years.
Pros:
- price, simple red dot reticle, lens caps included, quality
Cons:
- none for what it costs
Best Used for:
- 300 Yds of less hunting varmits and deer size game

Unbeatable clarity with RED DOT AND solid caps at this price.
This scope exceeded my expectations.. hard to put it down :)
Having many other scopes for double the price from big brands I got it for 350 LEGEND bolt thinking I don't need to see past 200 yards in it and 3-9 is more than plenty for the woody areas... it's better than all the other ones!!! RED DOT is a must in the woods in the last 30 min of light. Tested it on many calibers including 308 and no problem. 1000 yard visibility no problem at all.
BIG + are quality caps that are easy to pop up and make no noise!!!
CONS: with it was 10oz instead of 15 but that would sacrifice durability.

Works very well
Works very well, good clear sight picture. Have had no fogging issues, even in the rain, when going from a warm envroment to a cool or cold envroment. The lighted reticle is a big plus in the early morning.
Pros:
- Lighted reticle
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Hubting in low light conditions

Excellent (Deploy) scope
I have the Deploy version on a Savage 93 (17-HMR) and I love mine. I'm not thrilled with the scope on my 30-06 (different scope entirely) and I think I am going to get another Engage 3-9x40 for my Savage 30-06. This time I think I'll go illuminated.
Pros:
- Click adjustments are solid and audible
- Holds zero
- Sharp & bright optics.
Cons:
- Low light clarity could be better
Best Used for:
- hunting

AMAZING FOR A SIMPLE SCOPE WITH RED DOT IR
Didn't expect this quality and clarity for the price. Bushnell is not famous for the reticles or illumination .. but a simple duplex with center red dot on a 350 LEGEND is more than enough at 9x under 300 yards.
I was so impressed that I also got buishnell Fuxion X LRF binos and FORGE spotting scope .. a lot of products have good glass .. but I haven't found another company with such well thought out products and at the lowest price for all the features.

Bushnell Engage 3-9x40
This is what all scopes should be like! I wanted a scope for my ruger 10/22 and spent hours looking for the right scope. The duplex retical is so thin, it’s perfect for longer shots on small targets. Bushnell perfected this scope and I will be buying more! The illumination retical is so easy to operate and the supplied scope covers are great as well. Other scope manufacturers should be taking notes. I was a Nikon guy, and thought all there was left was leaupold, untill I looked at bushnell’s website. Again I will be buying more of these bushnell engage scopes!
Pros:
- Fast Target Acquisition
- Fast target
Cons:
- None

Pros:
- great optics
Cons:
- none so far

Quality scope, but OP has yet to replace or credit me for the front end cap.
Bushnell makes quality, accurate scopes as you might expect. I have several of their products - binoculars, also. No complaints about the quality of this one. Unfortunately, although OP is a licensed Bushnell distributor, their service has been almost nonexistent, regardless of COVID, over the past few MONTHS that I’ve exchanged emails with various Customer Service people. I was promised a resolution, but still have not received a credit or replacement for the front end cap, which was already broken when I opened the package. I’ve been patient, and I’ve lost “OP bucks” which have expired - because I’ve been reluctant to buy anything else here until this is resolved. It may be a factory packaging issue, easily resolved by taping or somehow securing the caps from popping open or the scope from moving. Either way - I bought a “new scope” and have a broken cap.
