Solid scope overall but cross hairs to thick. - Bushnell Rimfire Optics 3-12x40mm Side Focus Rifle Scope with 3 BDC Turrets

My first impression using this scope on a 1941 Win 75 is that the cross hairs are way too thick. Given the magnification range I would have expected a much finer reticle. Also the center operating works, e.g. the area where the elevation, wind-age and parellex adjustments are located is much thicker than I expected. That required a different scope base set up which on such an old rifle required a bit of research and cleverness to resolve. At least that last part left me with a nice sense of satisfaction of overcoming an irritating problem. I did develop a greater respect for the gunsmith who mounted the original scope bases, Okeechobee Shooting sports in Okeechobee FL. How on earth was this guy smart enough to mount Mauser bases on a 1941 Winchester. Overall the scope works satisfactorily, the adjustments appear solidly repeatable and Optics Planet delivered surprisingly quickly. The parellex does seem to work, at least so far. A feature I was looking for. I am not sure that there was a choice of reticles when purchasing the scope. Overall, this is a solid scope that works reliably but the cross hairs I think are too thick. I could not find another scope for the $$ so I chose to keep the scope as a decent value for the money.
