My search for a small, compact scope for a Marlin 444P ended when I found this one. Bushnell lists it as a muzzle loader and slug gun scope, but in my opinion, it'll work just fine on this carbine for close-in work in thickets. I like the eye relief it affords and the fast focus eyepiece is a real plus. The brightness and clarity are comparable to my Nikon Pro Staff scopes, plenty good for the short ranges it'll be used for. The power magnification ring was initially stiff but has since loosened up. I get consistent 2-3" groups at 75 yards with it and factory ammo, plenty good once again for my requirements. I can't yet speak for durability but I don't anticipate any issues...my 444 is strictly a hunting rifle that sees less than 20 rounds annually, hunts included.
Pros: Wide angle, eye relief, brightness & clarity, fast focus eyepiece
Cons: None
