Streamlights HL 6. one serious light

Review for
Streamlight ProTac HL 6 LED Flashlight
I had an hl5. The light is incredible. I was considering another and I came upon this. It’s an improvement on a super useful tool. I liked it so much I bought another and sold hl5. It’s got great throw and flood.
The batteries help maintain light output. It doesn’t dim after 30 seconds of continuous use

Mega stream

This light is pretty good. It’s bright and has a wide white hot spot. It’s excellent for close to medium range use. The new Streamlight battery lasts a long time and the light doesn’t dim out after 2 minutes of use. The usbc charging is very convenient. The internal charging means this could always be ready for use. I plan to buy these and leave them plugged into my car.
This battery should be the updated 18650 battery.

The switch

This in my opinion is integral to using the scout lights. Simply having the tail switch limits the effectiveness of the lights

It’s a great light. Not perfect. It has great penetration which makes it good at distance but could use a little more spill.
Jmho. It’s reliable doesn’t flicker. The dual fuel option offers flexibility

Review for
Trijicon RMR HD 1x Reflex Red Dot Sights
This is the second that I’ve bought. I really liked the sro but there were concerns about its strength, battery replacement etc. This was the solution and then some. A wider field of view, durability, a top loading battery, two different reticles and auto brightness are built into this one. It’s no wonder, they are selling out as fast as stock come in.

Accept no substitute. Acogs are simply the best. Durability and ultra clear glass.

Acogs are simply the best. They are clear and sharp. Their durability is legendary.
There is simply nothing better. If there is a con it’s the tritium is not as bright as a red/green dot. For night use

New fury tactical
Written on May 28, 2024
I’ve been waiting on the revised fury tactical for some time. I had several issues with my early editions of the fury tacticals. To surefire’s credit, they stood behind their product and replaced everyone with another surefire product. When the new fury’s came out I was anxious to get one. The new lights will run for about ten minutes, will get warm, but that’s to be expected. What did happen is the light would have diminished output. Similar to the lower output of the edc2. I contacted surefire itself to see if this was a feature, the reduced output was expected by them as a means to protect the light or the battery. I tried another battery and had the same results. After I let it cool for 10 seconds or so, the output returned to full power but it would repeat the reduced output cycle. I am assuming that this light will have similar issues to the first generation.
I could have gotten a lemon. I’d try another one but not at my expense.
I think this light is better suited as a secondary light or back up.
My opinion is that surefire should reduce the output to 1200 lumens and keep everything else the same.

Alot of power in a midsized package
Written on May 25, 2024
This light gives a lot and takes but so little. I thought I could edc carry the edc2 and in three of the four seasons I could but in the summer it was just a little too long. I carry a light because of the environment I live in. I need a light that punches through to distances beyond 10 feet. This light does that and more. In the wilderness, the city or a farm this light gets the job done. Bright, tough and lasts a long time.

Edc1-dft warmer weather carry perfection
Written on May 18, 2024
This is a very handy light. It’s very bright. Lasts a long time. The edc1 is the slightly shorter brother to the edc2. This version is great for warmer weather carrying. Clips into my front Jean pocket and is there when I need it. I had one and sold it thinking I wanted to consolidate battery types, but the smaller size really makes a difference in comfort and carrying ability in spring/summer.
