seems really well built. Definitely raised my opinion on Aero. I like how they milled the threads in a way that the stock can collapse all the way to the plate. The spring is quite difficult to get around the collar of the buffer, but they both do their jobs just fine once you get it on there. The buffer itself is not stamped heavy with an H, but using this on a 300 blackout build it doesn't seem to need it. I swapped it out with an H buffer I have from my Colt 5.56 and it did not like it. Misfeeds just about every round. So the 300 blackout round seems to like standard buffers, just a heads up!
Trigger feels great. Mag catch is awesome. Takedown pins look cool. Roll pins seem cheap and a little too big. I'm having problems with all of them needing too much force to go in that they mushroom and then don't go all the way in and look really bad. Selector switch should have come with instructions on how to choose between 90 and 60 degree throw. I wanted 90, but just threw it in without knowing how to decipher the degrees. My luck I got 60. If it had instructions with it I would have read them and installed it the way I wanted the first time.
I love the looks. It shoots just fine. Hand guard seems really high quality, receiver not so much. There is a bit of an unfinished seam around the forward assist hole which screams low quality and doesn't look great. The finish is getting marred easily, so it's not very hard. The dust cover and forward assist look like really low grade junk and I have already replaced them with cool looking strike industries parts.
I watched and read so many great reviews about this, that it is the absolute must have accessory for any handgun. Maybe I just got a bad one but mine is a useless piece of plastic with expensive accessories attached. If I could give this zero stars, I would. I really wanted to like this, but I haven't even been able to use it and I'll tell you why. Sliding and locking my Glock in place seizes up the slide of the gun which is attached to the charging handle of the mck frame. If it is seized up, I cannot rack the slide, therefore I cannot load the gun. I dare not put the gun in the frame loaded, that is just not safe. It is such a poor/tight fit that once I pull the gun out (with a great amount of force) there is terrible wear and marks on the slide and picatinny rail of my Glock. My very lightly used gun now looks like it has been aggressively abused. My last attempt will be hopefully that Optics Planet sends me a new mck that fits better and therefore is actually functional.
I bought it to swap out my gen 1 so it would be longer, but that's about all I got out of it. The, uhhh..."brace frame" is a hard polymer, and the original one was rubberized which felt good to the touch. Felt good enough to rub on your face, if for some reason you would want to put it to your face. But this longer one is not, and that is a sad sacrifice. Also the rubber flaps that are meant to wrap around your arm are quite soft and flimsy. I would prefer a firmer rubber here, you know for structural purposes. The length is better though.
