I was looking for a quad rail for my S&W M&P15 with a cutout for the A2 front sight/gas block. Hard to find, until I came across this. I didn’t expect much from the brand, but I was surprised to find that it was PERFECT for what I wanted. It fits perfectly & leaves you with a VERY solid rail system that does not move around at all! Being a metal construction I was afraid it would simply be a heat sink & too hot to handle, but I’ve run 100 rounds quickly thru it and it’s never been more than just a little warm. It’s been really durable, and it’s handled everything I’ve tried on it without any issue whatsoever.

Compared to the few other A2 cutout systems - it’s what I’d encourage anyone to get. You’ll save on the cost & be able to afford more ammo. These days THAT is a great thing.

I bought this out of curiosity more than anything, and ended up being really surprised with the overall qualiy. First it feels very solid and balanced in the hand. The polymer handle is really comfortable and has an almost perfect swell in the palm. It fits and feels very well, which makes it easy to securely manipulate. The sheath or holster is the absolute best of any boot knife I’ve ever come across in this price range. Very easy to draw and reholster securely, without being so tight or so loose that you can’t carry the knife safely. Very nice clip as well. No idea what the ball chain is actually for really, because it’s just too much knife really to be used as a neck knife. The only drawback I could find is that it is pretty hard to improve the edge sharpness until you work for a good long while figuring it out. Maybe it’s the bevel or something else. I did eventually get an outstanding edge on it however. Not quite a razor but pretty close.

Just received my new set of 3M Peltor Tactical 6S behind the head electronic ear pro yesterday. Like everything 'Peltor' I've ever owned, these are SUPER comfortable, and seal around my ears really well. Even with eye pro on and while doubling up with ear plugs in as well. The technology is tried & true but is also a little dated. The impulse sound (i.e. report of a gunshot etc) attenuation is only rated at 19 which is only moderate, hence my doubling up by also wearing ear plugs. I've spent a career in vehicles with a siren & air horn right above my head, so I try to manage and maintain what hearing I have left by always doubling. And while the mics pic up conversational voices & commands/instruction on the firing line, when a sound is attenuated the unit blanks for a split second. Like we were all likely used to in the 80s and early 90s. Long story short... they are rugged like every other Peltor ear pro, as evidenced by their use in our military. But the electronics really ought to be updated.

My main reason for getting these was that it's a behind-the-head set. Others reading this who are sporting large heads will understand this. Over-the-head models like the Howard Leight can sometimes not 'quite' obtain a decent seal on my ears, so this I was excited to try. I've quickly fallen for the 6S but miss being able to fold up my ear pro and take up less space.

Not folding up & the tech being a little dated is why I only rated these at four stars. But if 4.5 were an option t

I just received this VISM extended handguard (three days earlier than specified - which is ALWAYS a good thing) today, and honestly wasn't expecting too much. This was a great price compared to what I could find anywhere else, and I've been wanting to have a little more rail length on top of my S&W M&P15 Sport II carbine in order to add a 3x magnifier behind my red dot optic... so I figured I'd try it out.

After an install time of all of about 45 seconds, I was blown away. For a 'less expensive' handguard, it is solid as a rock! The fit & finish is extremely good and the M-LOK rail sections that come with it are rock solid as well. The slot on the bottom half that the forward sling mount of the A2 post/gas block fits through had me worried about how it would look & function. However this is evidently very well engineered. It looks as if it could've been OEM, and still allows the sling to be used if you want to. In fact the ONLY part of the rifle that is NOT usable with this handguard is the bayonet lug. Not too disappointed there, as I haven't had to 'fix bayonets' very often around here. My favorite part is how well the added inch or so of rail on the aft end of the top piece bridges to the end of rail on the upper. A lot of different rail systems that I've seen leave a gap there, or aren't exactly level at the same height.

This solves any need you might have for added rail space on a carbine. You could add a ton of additional gadgets if you want, or simply be able to move

If you store a firearm in a foam lined case, or carry a firearm in one for any length of time at all... remember that foam attracts & often traps moisture. The natural enemy of firearm finishes. Using a dessicant is ESSENTIAL, however they are not all the same or equal in how well they work. I've used a lot of different options, but none have worked as consistently well as Pelican. It not only will keep your weapons safe from corrosion, it's 100% reusable. When it becomes saturated just pop it in the oven per the directions & it will work again like brand new. This desiccant silica gel pack from Pelican has no equal!
