It is not a long range white light but is very useful for short range (30 yards or less) which should be more than sufficient for any home defense use. can be mounted on a shotgun or has adaptor to allow using it on a rail. It is very good for use on home defense carbine or something like the Mossberg Shockwave.
The prescription seems to be right on. I like the design with the adaptor that lets me use the inserts with my old Sawflys that came back from Iraq in 2010. The adaptor will let me use them on a newer model when I upgrade.
