Very large mat

Written on May 31, 2017

Look at the deminsions on the mat before you order it. The mat was much larger than I thought it would be. The mat is nice and high quality but it's really long. If you are limited on space on your work bench, it might be a problem.

No complaints

I got the medium extension on the charging handle and it makes one handed charging much easier. I would highly recommend this charging handle over the regular charging handles. I got the medium one because I plan on using the gun while hunting and I didn't want something sticking out to far and catching on things. I'll probably go with the larger one on the next build. Make sure you put a few drops of oil on it before using it. I put the gun together and started charging it to check function and it already started getting some run marks on it. It was much smoother once I put a few drops of oil on it and probably would have avoiding getting the run marks.

Great kit for the money

Written on May 31, 2017

I've used this kit to build one AR. I didn't have any issues with it during my build and it actually worked quite well. The mallet was much smaller than I thought it was when ordering it but it did its job. The roll pin punch works really well to get the roll pins started. I actually didn't notice them until after I had already set one of the roll pins. I used the roll pin punch to get the second one started and it was much easier. The roll pin punches are a must if you plan on building an AR. The brass on the mallet did get dinged up a little but that was expected. That's the reason you use a brass mallet, so it doesn't ding up your receiver.
