I am a novice at using this rest! The adjustments on the rest for windage and elevation moved smoothly and were easy to access. I did have problems as I went to snug the rifle into my shoulder. There is soft rubber installed in the bottom of the rest's stock well as well as behind it. So snugging the rifle to the rear results in it sinking into the bottom rubber resulting in a change of elevation on the hold you just had, Definitely different than using a rear sandbag rest! That was the down side. The upside is I was able to shoot work-up loads for a 7mm mag and 300 Wby mag. 16 rnds out of the 7 MM and 30 rnds out of the 300 Wby and not a mark on my shoulder. The rest weighs in at about 25lbs and I added a 25lb bag of bird shot to the sled. I'm sure that w a little practice using this rest I can work up loads efficiently and not bruise myself in the process!

My son turned me onto this optic. He had purchased one for an AR-15 and loved it. He bought another for his AR-10. I bought two. One for me and a good friend. My friend's brother liked his so much that he just ordered one for himself. The hash marks on the reticle are 18 in at distances from 100-600 yds. (On 6x)So you can roll the scope, drop it on the side of a deer and have a real good idea how far away it is! Crisp and clear like other Vortex products.
