Reliable Comfort: The Stark SE-5 Just Works

Written on Apr 30, 2025

The Stark SE-5 Express Forward Grip is one of those pieces of gear you don’t realize you’ll love until you actually run it—and then you end up buying a few more. This is my third one, and I’ve got it mounted on my Franklin Armory Binary AR-15. It’s just that good.

The grip angle feels super natural and helps with both control and comfort, especially during rapid fire or transitions. It gives you a solid, repeatable grip without feeling bulky or awkward. The design strikes a perfect middle ground—somewhere between a traditional vertical grip and an angled one—so it works well whether you’re pushing out aggressively or running a more compact stance.

Durability-wise, it’s rock solid. The polymer feels tough and lightweight, and I’ve never had one come loose or shift. It locks up tight and stays put, even after long sessions and rough handling. Plus, it looks slick on the rifle.

If you’re looking for a forward grip that actually improves your handling and doesn’t just look cool, the SE-5 is an easy pick. Once you try one, chances are you’ll be back for more—just like I was.

Solid Performer: Gideon Omega Red Dot Delivers Where It Counts

Written on Apr 30, 2025

I’ve been running the **Gideon Optics Omega Red Dot Reflex Sight** for a little while now, and I’ve got to say—this thing is a solid piece of gear. Right out of the box, it feels well-built without being bulky, and setup was quick and straightforward.

The red dot is crisp and easy to pick up, even in bright light or when moving between targets. It holds zero without any issues, and the windage and elevation adjustments actually feel like they’re doing what they should—not something you can say for every optic in this price range.

The glass is clear with minimal tint, and it doesn’t distort the sight picture. Battery life seems great so far, and the auto-off feature is a nice bonus to keep you from draining it when you forget to power down (we’ve all been there). It also fits perfectly on my setup at a 45 degree for quick transition from long range to 75 yds and in.

Overall, the Omega is a great value. It’s not trying to be some fancy high-end optic, but it does exactly what it’s supposed to—and it does it well. Whether you're hitting the range or setting up for home defense, it’s definitely worth a look.
