Night day difference with level iv plates

Written on Apr 17, 2024

So I own a couple worn out Frogs issued while in service as well as a crye woodland marpat of the same variety, while crye gets the color almost 100% the price tag makes it hard to justify buying again and again knowing it will be ripped or jacked up after at most 2 deployments. So I gave tru-spec a shot. One thing to note is the color scheme heavily favors green. Normally not a problem, however you will find these will only match up to tru-spec digital woodland pants or USMC issued BDU’s. So I used with my marpat woodland pants purchased at the MCX before a 2 week deployment back to Ukraine this past month. While the region I was in had not quite warmed up enough to see more of the dark greens, the AO was heavy with pines. I found in temperate pre-spring weather that this top worked excellent both in camouflage against the environment and in releasing/dissipating sweat from carrier. Note the material for the arms is designed for warm weather which is a plus, however if your not humping it in hot weather it can get cold if you are static for too long, not an issue, just threw on a coyote fleece jacket. Was surprised I didn’t get hypothermic like I usually do this time of year when I wear crye’s version. My guess is it had to do with the fabric being heavier/denser on the crye top. So for the price point, I’m here to tell you if you know your AO and it fits the narrative above, buy this top if your command will allow it. It’s now battle tested personally by me and I can you te

EOTech Quality at Half The Price

Written on Apr 03, 2024

Currently my squadron is issued EOTech, and 90% of my platoon has purchased this optic to replace their EOTechs. Simple reasons, green does not trigger migraines or vision fatigue as quickly when viewed through a holographic lens. Weight is lighter and vision window near the same size as EOTech. I bought this as a challenge, being an older operator, my younger zoomer direct reports bet that I could improve my proficiency with Holosun right out of the box. So being the geriatric 40 year old dinosaur, I took the challenge. We took a brand new EOTech out of the box, and the brand new Holosun right out of box and slapped them on two MK18’s. We tested both with thermal nods, during night test, and without under regular conditions during daylight tests. Well I lost the bet. My proficiency jumped 37.8% with the Holosun and now I’m sporting a freshly shaved head and had to grant liberty and take weekend watch for two of my teammates. Well done Holosun, well done, my bald head is proof you will shoot better with this optic if you are Already at a high preexisting shooting proficiency.

Drops right in

Works perfectly. Just what I expected. Good quality, put 1,000 through it at range last week to break it in, no malfunctions and surprisingly minimal wear on barrel. Very impressed. Lone Wolf knocked it out of the park with this one.
