Ken Stubbe's Review of CAA MCK 2.0 Gen 2 Micro Conversion Kit Brass Catcher

Pro-- It does catch the brass. A lot of it from it's size. With the ammo and reloading component situation we are experiencing, I don't have exact quantities. It is large. It does keep me from bending over to pick up brass which is always a good thing. It is made from very robust material. The material supports the large arch that keeps it away from the hand (right handed shooters) which is a good thing.

Con-- Its size, attachment process and price. It is large and not easy to remove. A hex wrench must be used to attach and detach the unit at its forward hinge point. The size makes the entire unit difficult to transport while attached to the unit. The weapon must be manipulated in order to dump it which could make others around you un-comfortable. It swings open from the aft end which has a maganet to keep it closed so the muzzle must be raised and shook around to get the brass out. It is also the most expensive brass catcher I own by at least 40%.

I use brass catchers on my AR's in both 9mm and 5.56 from a couple different other brands that are easy on and off after the initial installation. Based on this previous experience on other weapons, the CAA MCK 2.0 Gen 2 Micro Conversion Kit Brass Catcher will probably come off the weapon and not be used much unless I figure out a way to quickly put it on and take it off without having to spend several minutes using a wrench.

It appears to be over-engineered by someone who does not shoot much. This too is probably why it is also over-priced.
