Caldwell Fire Control Full Lenght Rest
The rear holder should allow adjustment for rifles with a cheek-piece. The current holder will not accomodate a cheek-piece and the rifle tends to rock.
Pros: Works as advertised.
Cons: Limited to firearms without cheek-piece

Did not meet my expectations
I actually sold my Lead Sled DFT to purchase this full length rest. I was really dissapointed with this rest. The "joystick" handle is a cool idea, but was poorly implemented. The handle interferes with the detachable magazine on my Remington 700 and with my AR-15. I had to remove the handle to ...

CALDWELL FRONT CONTROL REST
Quality product. Works as advertised. Only downside is I had to remove bipod , but no big deal.

It is a pretty decent rest, but certainly not perfect
I've owned and used many nice rests. I really wanted the front (only) Fire Control rest but the full-length came up on sale.
I ASSumed I could switch out the rear rest when I didn't need it.
No ............ it's completely different than the front (only) rest .......... so I built an adapter, and it works just fine, so I have what I wanted -- CHOICES!!
Now, for the rest itself, the bolts that hold the rear support wouldn't tighten and the control arm is so heavy it doesn't hold once you are on-target so I built my own control arm and now that works great, too!!

Not a precision bench rest
After trying out this bench rest several times, I found the stability is not as good as I was hoping for accurate bench rest shooting. Even after tightening up the adjustable front rest, it still moved quite a bit after each shot making the next shot adjustment time consuming and during a match this counts against you. The rear rest is also not very forgiving or adjustable at all and I ended up wishing I had not ordered it as an option. This may be suitable for just the average hunter wanting a rest to use to for pre-season preparation, but not for the serious bench shooter.

Decent Beginner rest for Benchrest
Has the requisite ability to quickly move from target to target without upsetting the rifle. The joystick movement is stiff and jerky if you expect the rest to hold the weight of the rifle. If you reduce the tension it smooths out, but you will have to hold the joystick with you left hand while shooting. It's a matter of balancing what you can live with.
Pros:
- Price
Cons:
- rudimentary
- Rudimentary controls
Best Used for:
- Benchrest competition

Unmatched Precision and Stability
I recently purchased the Caldwell Fire Control Front and Full Length Rest, and it has significantly improved my shooting experience. From the moment I set it up, I could tell that this rest was built with quality and precision in mind.
First and foremost, the stability of the Caldwell Fire Control Rest is unparalleled. The solid construction and adjustable features ensure that my rifle remains perfectly steady, allowing for incredibly accurate shots. Whether I'm at the range or out in the field, I can rely on this rest to provide a rock-solid foundation for my firearm.
One of the standout features is the front control mechanism, which allows for precise adjustments with minimal effort. The ability to fine-tune the position of my rifle ensures that I can achieve the perfect aim every time. The full-length rest provides additional support, further enhancing the stability and accuracy of my shots.
The design of the Caldwell Fire Control Rest is also worth mentioning. It is user-friendly and easy to set up, making it accessible for both novice and experienced shooters. The materials used are durable and designed to withstand the rigors of regular use, ensuring that this rest will be a long-term investment in my shooting gear.
Another aspect I appreciate is the versatility of this rest. It accommodates a wide range of rifles, making it a valuable addition to any shooter's collection. Whether I'm using a lightweight hunting rifle or a heavier target rifle, the Caldwell Fire Con...

this good rest
I have shot a bunch of .25 and 0's off this rest with my AR15 at 100 yds. The addition of leveling feet and knobs was a tremendous improvement for use on concrete top benches. This is an "economy model" rest compared to the higher price rests that F-class uses, so some nicer features like adjustable fore end stop, right side vertical guide bar and lock, and a standard size and type bag support fit fine.

Caldwell Fire Control Front
Excellent purchase. Perfect for sighting in. Very steady and easy to work with. Of special note one part was missing, could still use. A phone call later to Caldwell part was in Fed Ex and arrived quickly. Great service.

Caldwell Fire Control Front Rest
I would definitely recommend this product. I bought the version that is just a front rest. I wanted a joystick type adjustment front rest. I did not want to spend the $1,000+ for a Farley or a SEB, not that I would not like to have one, just that I have a smaller budget. The Caldwell offers a lot of the same features at 1/5th of the price. It works as advertised. I use it with a Protektor rear bag and my group sizes have gotten considerably tighter. I have had other members of my shooting club try it on the range and I think they went on to purchase their own afterwards. Bottom line I would buy it again.

Fire Front Rest
The rest I ordered was actually the front rest only, not the full rest. I was very pleased with the rest. It came with the front rest bag for both regular and bench rest forearm style rifles. It has a good weight and is very adjustable. The only slight negative was that the bench rest bag was not filled.
