This pack is lightweight and ruggedly built! It is well configured, making packing or unpacking easier. I like the lumbar support as well as how the straps fit and work for me. I have always covered it before any significant rain so I am unable to comment on its water resistance, but that’s what inner bags are for. I keep my bladder and hose in the freezer after cleaning and after the first use I have no issues with water hose flavoring. I believe this pack is half the weight of the 5.11 rush 72 hour (this pack replaced the 5.11) though comparable in capacity.
