Orful Octopus's Review of Camp Chef Outdoor Camp Oven

I have been using this oven for 2 camping seasons now, and I must say that it does a pretty good job. I tend to use it to bake freshly-raised yeast rolls and to keep items warm while other food cooking on my Camp Chef Flat Top Griddle is finishing. I have also used it to make corn bread in an 8-inch round cake pan as well as a cake or 2. It's nice to heat up the dinner (ceramic) plates in it as well in order to keep food at the table hot while eating. It is very convenient to use because that's where my griddle and grill are, and it prevents my having to run in and out of my camper to use the camper's oven. The propane lasts a long time too! (I have it connected to a 20 lb tank). The oven heats up quickly and maintains its heat well. I do keep watch on the bottom of my food as it can burn it. Simply using the middle or top rack positions can help. You can also put an appropriate-sized cookie sheet (or sheet of foil) on the bottom rack to help diffuse the heat also works.
I don't generally need to use the stove's burners much, but I have used it on occasion. I helps make great fried chicken! It works well and is very easy to clean up--more so than other camp stoves I have used in the past.
I would recommend this to anyone interested in baking outside.
