I just purchased this as my first DSLR camera. Although more expensive than a point and shoot, the quality and controls help enhance creativity. I really like the image quality, both on the kit lens and the 70-300mm IS lens that I purchased. I also purchased a Pelican case to protect my investment.
Pros: Good picture quality, easy to use, many accessories
Cons: Grip is a bit small for large hands
