When I used the factory mounting position under the stock, it tended to pull the top of the carbine to the side (I should note here that I use the method I learned in Appleseed). With this system, and the sling on the side of the stock, it keeps the carbine tight and in position, just how I like it.

Highly recommend, works great with my Leeper's Heavy Duty QD sling swivels TL-QDSW18.
