First, it appears these may be made - like numerous Stoner products, by Bear Creek Arsenal for CBC. Second, you shouldn't buy a "complete" upper and immediately have to then take fundamental, critical functioning parts off (like the bolt carrier group) and replace them (Note to "kenny21234... and btw, I highly doubt you came out of the womb knowing how to replace an extractor, so your rather arrogant comments telling people to do just that - not to mention your statement, "If they don't know how to replace an extractor you should stick to handguns." is the type of thing we'd all be better off if you kept to yourself. In fact if you actually knew as much as it appears you think you do, you'd know that the BCG coating has exactly ZERO bearing on the quality of the component. None whatsoever. Zip. So your telling folks yhey should know they have to upgrade to a NiBo BCG is a useless recommendation. Third, the "7.62x39-in-an-AR" having fragile extractors - though especially common in the last few years of Bear Creek (and this their distrbutors) ARs - is a well known issue in MANY makes of ARs and has to do with the smaller diameter cartridges (specifically the case head) that the AR was originally designed for. An internet search will help you find "reliable brands of 7.62x39 AR extractors" - then you can simply swap out the extractor in this unit w/ one that is made from a more purpose-suited metal composition and which has better heat twmpering. Running a 7.62x39 in an AR re...

I was on the fence about a cheaper upper chambered in 7.62x39 but I’m impressed. The fit and finish are excellent. The bolt is pretty high quality for the cost. The only thing I recommend for anyone buying this is to make sure you have a heavy trigger/hammer spring, the steel cased ammo tends to have hard primers. I had 6 light strikes but fixed that by throwing in a Franklin Armory Binary trigger and it’s loads of fun. That little issue had nothing to do with the upper. CBC really put together a nice budget upper.

Bought a CBC Industries AR15 16" inch barrel keymod style kit via opticsplanet.com and Im glad I did. I threw a JMT lower on it. May pair it with a billet custom lower next. CBC AR15 is
MIL spec where it counts and I did my own upgrades like a 1 stage 3.5lb trigger and anti walk pins. This AR is good for the price and Kudos to CBC for helping out Americans to defend freedom and the 2A. I hope CBC keeps getting better and making better ARs! Cheers.
Pros:
- Good quality for the price
- cant beat the price
- better than other budget priced ARs
Best Used for:
- high hunting and long range shooting

Everything was pretty nice and all went together fine. I did have to slightly modify the firing pin to get it to fire ever round dependably. The critical length of the pin was about .020” too short. After that modification it sighted in and shoots accurate as well.
Pros:
- Everything was there and went together easily.

Kudos to CBC for having great customer service reps. I am a first time buyer, and they took the time to answer my many questions.
I like doing business with companies that provide good answers to questions, don't rush through their answers, and ensure all my questions are answered to my satisfaction.

Pulled it out of the box threw in a enhanced pin and added a 100% mill spec lower with extended power hammer spring so that i can shoot cheep steel case ammo then i went up with 200 rounds loaded in mags. I threw all 200 rounds threw as fast as i was capable the hole front of this thing was smoking like it was about to catch on fire but it fed all 200 flawlessly and that is hart to find in 7.62x39 in a ar pre built upper so i bough another straight from the manufacturer
Best Used for:
- Whatever i decide to use it for

The CBC Upper bolt extractor failed on the 4th round. Optics Planet still has not responded to emails. I contacted CBC Ind. and this is their response, "David, Yes we found out we had a bad batch of extractors come in in our last shipment of 7.62x39 BCG’s. If you want to send it back to me I will get it swapped out for you. I know the steel 7.62x39 rounds are very affordable but we do not warranty steel case ammo being used in our upper as its on our warranty page. The tolerances in the AR platform are tighter than those in the AK platform and the use of steel will mess up the barrel extension and chamber due to the tighter tolerances. If you want to send it back in you can send it to:
CBC Industries". Now CBC acknowledges they have a BCG issue, but I found the info about the steel rounds to be very disappointing. No where on the Optics Planet does it mention the upper cannot handle steel rounds. There was no mention of warranty that arrived in the package. There were also no instructions. CBC response about steel rounds really makes me question the quality of the upper. If the tolerances are that tight, what about 300 blackout of 350 legend those are larger and hotter.
Pros:
- price (compared to other options)
- Fit & feel great
- Appear to be well made
Cons:
- Bolt extractor broke in 4 shots
- castle nut is soft
- Omega butt stock will not lock onto buffer tube
- zero directions
Best Used for:
- Home Defense
- Hunting target practise
