I bought the scope for an economical scope for target shooting. It has worked well for that for targets out to 1000 yards with the 32mm eyepiece. You do need to use the side "finder" piece in order to get the scope aimed in the right direction. I agree with other users in that the tripod is almost worthless-which is why I gave it a 4. I used a much sturdier one that I have. The scope is a bit chunkier than other shooting scopes but it didn't cost an arm and a leg either.
