A great scope. - Celestron NexStar Evolution 9.25 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope

The optics of the 9.25 OTA live up to their great reputation. First light with this scope really surprised me with just how accurate my first go-tos were all across the sky (it did take 2 alignments to get there but they were easy). From Orion, it centered the Eskimo Nebula beautifully (an object I have NEVER been able to find star hopping with my 8" dob!). The iPhone app is working fine and is pretty cool. Beefy tripod and the mount was pretty stable - even on my wood deck. I was worried about a single arm fork (was also looking at LX90s), but it is just fine plus I can take the OTA off if I ever want a GEM. The only two negatives are well documented out there in the forums: the star pointer's bracket is pretty cheap and my scope has a bit of play in the altitude axis - it is small and I have made it a tad nose heavy to get rid of it. It seems to be working and did not detract from my first-light experience. Should probably be a 4.5 rating because of that but I would never go down to 4 stars! I got a super-good deal here at OpticsPlanet and they got the scope to me in about a week! Very happy with OP-I used the gift card to get a Televue barlow!
